The new, used or refurbished Cisco VWIC-2MFT-T1-DI you are interested in is a: 2-Port RJ-48 Multiflex Trunk - T1 With Drop and Insert.
The Multi-Flex Trunk (MFT) provides physical layer T1 access. The
capabilities of this T1 interface are determined by the host it is plugged into.
High Density Voice - When you use the Multi-Flex Trunk in a high density voice
network module, each DS0 can contain voice calls. The voice network module, not
the Multi-Flex Trunk, determines the T1 signaling capability (T1 CAS, ISDN PRI).
2600 WIC Slot - When you use the Multi-Flex Trunk in the WAN interface card
(WIC) slot of the Cisco 2600 routers, you can configure each T1 into a single
channel group as a serial interface. You can have at most two channel groups per
VWIC.
3700 WIC Slot – When you use the Multi-Flex Trunk in the WIC slot of the Cisco
3700 routers, you can configure each T1 into a single channel group as a serial
interface. You can have at most two channel groups per VWIC.
NM-1E2W, NM-1E1R2W, and NM-2E2W - The 3600 NM-1E2W, NM-1E1R2W, and NM-2E2W
support one serial channel group per WIC slot, thus the VWIC-2MFT-T1 is not
supported. The VWIC-2MFT-T1-DI is supported, but with one serial channel group.
NM-1FE2W, NM-1FE1R2W, NM-2FE2W, and NM-2W - The NM-1FE2W, NM-1FE1R2W, NM-2FE2W
and NM-2W support at most two serial channel groups per WIC slot.
Two channel groups on one port - This requires Cisco IOS® Software Release
12.1(1)T or later on Cisco 2600 routers. This requires Cisco IOS Software
Release 12.1(2)X, 12.1(3)T or later releases on Cisco 3620, 3640, and 3660
routers. On the Cisco 3700 routers Cisco IOS Software Release 12.2(8)T or later
releases is required.
Two channel groups on one port are supported in Cisco 2600 and Cisco 3700
chassis WIC slots. This is not supported on NM-1E2W, NM-2E2W or NM-1E1R2W but is
supported on NM-1FE2W, NM-2FE2W, NM-1FE1R2W and NM-2W. The WIC slot still
supports a maximum of two serial channel groups. When the two channel group mode
is enabled only one physical port is supported by the WIC slot. Add and drop
multiplexing is still supported in this mode since only one port terminates on
the router.
Other Features
The drop and insert feature on the VWIC-2MFT-T1-DI interface card allows you to
take DS0 timeslots off one T1 interface and insert them into time slots of the
other T1 interface. This feature is available in Voice interface card (VIC) and
WIC applications. Future applications may include T1 ATM and T1 ATM CES
interfaces. Bit error rate testing (BERT) support requires Cisco IOS Software
Release 12.1(1)T or later. V.54 loopback requires Cisco IOS Software Release
12.1(1)T or later. |
