AT&T Web Security Service is designed to block Web-borne malware and to enforce Web and IM access policies. The offer has four service components:
  • Web Filtering
  • Web Virus Scanning
  • Web Spyware Screening
  • IM Control

    Web Filtering
    This service component is designed to prevent users from accessing inappropriate content on the Web and uses more than 60 easy-to-block categories that are regularly being updated through a combination of multiple scanning engines to help ensure accuracy. In addition, this service level provides granular web usage reports via a customer-accessible Web-based portal and/or through scheduled delivery. Web Filtering can pre-emptively categorize search results from popular search engines according to corporate policy and can block specific file types to enable organizations to effectively enforce and manage their Web usage policy.

    Web Virus Scanning and Spyware Screening
    These two service components scan Web traffic in real-time for viruses, spyware and phishing attacks and are designed to block threats before they reach the network. Comprehensive protection includes exploits of browser vulnerabilities and nuisance adware. Spyware screening helps identify and prevent Spyware infected machines calling home and transmitting sensitive data outside the company. Both service components use multiple scanning engines and proactive heuristics to provide layered security and protection from “unknown” attacks to help protect your network from malware and malicious content.

    IM Control
    IM Control monitors, logs and audits Instant Messaging (IM) use. It generates customizable scheduled reports that are accessible via a Web-based portal and generates alerts for threats or attempted policy breaches. IM Control links screen names to users, establishing accountability, enforces a company’s acceptable use policy for IM, and integrates compliance logging with a company’s email archiving solution. In addition, IM Control supports all the major publicly available IM services.
