AT&T NetPROTECT Family of Services

While no telecommunications system can be entirely free from risk of toll fraud, earnest attention to system security can reduce that risk considerably. AT&T devotes substantial resources to detect suspicious calling patterns, alert businesses, and catch violators.

The AT&T NetPROTECT Family of Services provide fraud protection that's the most extensive and comprehensive in the industry . The program monitors both outbound international and domestic toll free number calls 24-hours a day, 7 days a week. AT&T provides timely notification of suspicious calling patterns as soon as you can be reached. AT&T also provides you with toll fraud education conducted by security experts, who can initiate toll fraud investigations and answer questions via a 24 hour NetPROTECT hotline.

AT&T offers a choice of services to meet your individual needs, options to limit toll fraud liability, and the benefit of AT&T's reliability and experience in monitoring unusual calling patterns. There are three levels of AT&T NetPROTECT protection from which you can choose: Basic, Plus, and Premium.

With Basic, the default service, AT&T notifications go to the number that is experiencing the fraud. Plus and Premium services enable you to provide AT&T with predesignated contacts. If AT&T suspects fraudulent activity and cannot get in touch with your contacts, AT&T will implement restrictions to stop additional fraudulent activity if pre-authorized by you. In addition, Plus and Premium services provide additional limits on liability.

In the final analysis, you, the customer, must become a watchdog over your network if you are to successfully thwart these skillful criminals. The best defense against toll fraud remains an educated customer.
