Used Cisco IP/VC 3500 Series Videoconferencing System
The Cisco videoconferencing solution is the Cisco IP/VC product family, which comprises several products. The new IP/VC 3500 Series consists of the IP/VC 3510 Multipoint Control Unit, the IP/VC 3520 and 3525 Gateways, and the IP/VC 3530 Video Terminal Adapter. In addition, the Cisco Multimedia Conference Manager is an H.323 gatekeeper/proxy. The Cisco IP/VC product family is designed to work with H.323-standards based videoconference client devices from a variety of vendors. These products, and the solutions they enable, are developed for enterprises and service providers who want a reliable, easy-to-manage, cost-effective network infrastructure for videoconferencing applications deployment. The Cisco IP/VC product family enables videoconferencing over IP networks, and at the same time, integrates legacy H.320 systems and networks protecting original investments that enterprises make in videoconferencing. The Cisco IP/VC 3510 Multipoint Control Unit (MCU) enables conferences between three or more endpoints. Multiple participants in multiple locations can attend the same meeting with full real-time interactivity. The IP/VC 3510 MCU is designed to allow users to spontaneously initiate full multimedia, multipoint conferences, including data conferencing. It runs unattended-there is no need to schedule conferences in advance. The IP/VC 3520 and the IP/VC 3525 Gateways are self-contained systems that translate between H.323 and H.320 protocols. These gateways let users connect IP-based H.323 videoconference networks to legacy circuit-switched H.320 networks. Like the IP/VC 3510 MCU, the IP/VC Gateways offer built-in gatekeeper functions for small videoconferencing networks, a compact design, and reliable RISC architecture. The IP/VC 3530 Video Terminal Adapter (VTA) is a self-contained video interface that connects one H.320 system to an IP network. It allows companies to protect their investment in legacy technologies while implementing new IP-based multimedia communications. The IP/VC 3530 VTA connects an H.320 room-based system or small-group system to a LAN. It offers two V.35 WAN interfaces, EIA/TIA-366 signaling, a low-profile compact design, and RISC architecture to ensure reliability and easy installation. The Multimedia Conference Manager (MCM) software is part of Cisco IOS Software. It functions as a high-performance H.323 gatekeeper and proxy, enabling network managers to control bandwidth and priority settings for H.323 videoconferencing services based on individual network configurations and capacities. The MCM is available across a wide range of Cisco router platforms, including the Cisco 2500, 2600, 3600, and the MC3810 multiservice access concentrator. Allows customers to build tailored videoconferencing solutions through interoperability with the customer`s choice of H.323-compliant endpoints Cisco works closely with the leading endpoint vendors to ensure compatibility. Protects legacy investments The Cisco IP/VC products provides connectivity between H.323 IP-based endpoints and legacy circuit-switched H.320 systems and networks. Allows users to initiate multipoint videoconferences on demand The IP/VC 3510 MCU is designed to allow users to spontaneously initiate full multimedia, multipoint conferences, including data conferences. Provides quality of service (QoS) The MCM allows network managers to implement QoS polices to guarantee bandwidth availability and manage bandwidth usage.
