PCM Carrier
Systems digitally multiplex 24 or 48 Voice and Data Channels into one or two
DS1-Compatible, 1.544 Mb/s data streams T1 data streams can be transported over copper, fiber optic, radio and
satellite links and are end-to-end compatible with other D1D, D2, D3 and D4 channel banks.
In Mode 3, the channel banks provide dual
24 channel asynchronous service over two independent T1 span lines at 1.544
Mb/s.

Each digroup
functions totally independent of the other. One TPA unit and one Line Interface, Mode 3
(LI-3 or LI-3E), SRMU or QMJU is required per digroup.
- Provides a wide-variety of channel unit
offerings, including VF, special service, data, program channels and ISDN
- Offers loop and DDS timing interface units
- Available in connectorized shelves,
pre-wired bays and outdoor special services housings
- Supports data rates up to 19.2 Kb/s
synchronous/asynchronous via direct RS-232C interface and up to 56 Kb/s with a V.35
interface

and D448 connectorized shelves can be mounted in standard racks and the D448 is available
in both 19" and 23" widths. The channel banks are available in pre-wired bays
for office applications and in a weatherproof special services housing for outdoor
installations. |

Multiple Switched
Digital Data Services
- Four-wire switched 56 data service is
supported by the Dataport Unit and is compatible with all major manufacturers’
switches.
- Two-wire switched 56 data service (such as
Datapath™ is supported by D448 Datapath Extension Channel Unit and provides transport
of the service beyond the basic service area.
- ISDN is supported by a D448 Channel Unit
that provides basic rate ISDN (BRI) transport of ISDN services beyond the basic service
area of the ISDN-equipped switch.

Multiple Private
Line Data Services
- Dataport channel applications provide
multiplexing of digital data services at 2.4, 4.8, 9.6, 19.2, 38.4, 56 and 64 Kb/s using
the Office Channel Unit Dataport and the Dataport Channel Unit. These private line
services are provided by a single card with secondary channel and on-board error
correction.
- Sub-rate multiplexing capability allows 5 to
20 circuits at 2.4, 4.8 or 9.6 Kb/s to be combined into a single 64 Kb/s DSO signal.
