Adtran DS3 Dark Fiber Transport

Versatility is the key word in describing ADTRAN's fiber products. For dark fiber transport, ADTRAN offers optical converter and opitcal service units that allow the simultaneous transfer of data, video, and voice over fiber.

The OCU 45 supports DS3, E3, or STS-1 services, transporting them point-to-point across dark fiber at distances up to 40km. The OCU 45 is carrier-class with NEBS Level 3 certification. It is ideal for inter-building risers or campus fiber extension applications.

The OSU 300 is a multiport service unit that offers single-mode optics for distances up to 40km or multi-mode optics for distances up to 2km. It features a built-in HSSI interface and three option slots that support V.35, DSX-1, or additional HSSI interfaces. Additionally, an Ethernet Bridge module is available to provide switching between its four ports, on the Local Area Network (LAN) and bridging over the Wide Area Network (WAN).

• OCU 45
  ADTRAN has applied its industry-leading carrier class expertise to the OCU 45, creating a product that meets the most stringent carrier class requirements. The OCU 45 offers transparent transport of T3/E3/STS-1 services over point-to-point dark fiber, at distances up to 40km. The OCU 45 is available in single-mode and multi-mode versions. Measuring only one rack unit high, the OCU 45 can be used standalone, wall mounted or mounted in 19-inch or 23-inch racks using an optional mounting tray. This compact device gives network service providers a convenient way to extend T3/E3/STS-1 services from their point-of-presence to the customer. It provides the enterprise user with a powerful tool for extending services in campus applications or in inter-building risers.

• OSU 300

• Total Access OPTI-3
  This ADTRAN fiber MUX delivers from one to three DS3 circuits from a single OC-3 feed. Designed to meet the growing demand for DS3 deployment in today's economy, the Total Access OPTI-3 eliminates the need for expensive SONET multiplexer equipment in terminal mode applications and provides the fullest use of the OC-3 capacity. Additionally, it can be used for DS3 range extension applications that deploy DS3 in the network backbone or directly to end-user customer premises.

  The Total Access OPTI-3 is interoperable with other SONET devices complying with GR-253 for easy deployment in new and existing SONET networks. It comes in two configurations: wallmount and rackmount.
