Cisco ONS 15540
The Cisco ONS 15500 Series is designed for carrying mission-critical storage and data applications over a highly-available metro optical dense wavelength-division multiplexing (DWDM) network. The Cisco ONS 15500 Series includes the ONS 15530 DWDM Multiservice Aggregation Platform, ONS 15540 ESPx Extended Services Platform, and ONS 15501 EDFA Optical Solutions Amplifier.
The Cisco ONS 15530 offers service aggregation capabilities for services such as Enterprise Systems Connection, Fibre Channel, IBM Fiber Connection, and Gigabit Ethernet.
The ONS 15540 ESPx system with its external cross-connect functionality and newly introduced cable management system supports high-density transparent services and enhanced configuration flexibility for both client transponder placement in the chassis and direct ITU insertion from a Cisco ONS 15454 or ONS 15530. It also permits cross connection of individual wavelengths at a node, which contributes to a more efficient network.
The transparent wavelength density of the Cisco ONS 15540 ESPx and the service aggregation and stacking capability of the Cisco ONS 15530 together lead the industry in service density, scalability, flexibility, reliability, and price.
