High-Availability Gigabit Switching for Enterprise-Class Building Core Switching
The 3Com Switch 4060 offers high-availability, multilayer Gigabit Ethernet switching for the network backbone in a fixed configuration unit. It is a 24-port switch, with 12 1000BASE-SX ports, six GBIC ports, and six integrated 10/100/1000 ports.

The Switch 4060 supports 3Com's patented XRN™ technology allowing you to quickly build a fully redundant server farm or network core solution out of a pair of 3Com Gigabit switches— delivering high resiliency without complexity.

The switch has a durable metal chassis— a compact, 2RU-high rack-mountable unit.

Fault-tolerance features include modular, load-sharing, hot-swappable power supplies; modular, hot-swappable fan trays; and hot-swappable GBIC transceivers. You can install a second power supply for added power redundancy.

  • 3Com XRN™ (eXpandable Resilient Networking) technology allows implementation of high availability configurations using two interconnected Switch 40x0 or SuperStack 3 Switch 4900 family switches.

  • Advanced Layer 2 and Layer 4 functionality—such as multicast filtering, enhanced QoS/CoS services, virtual LANs, and multilayer traffic classification and prioritization—provides network-wide traffic control

  • Layer 3 switching capabilities—such as as OSPF, IP unicast using static routes, RIP/RIPv2, and CIDR—help enhance performance, provide network control and security, and enable routing between VLANs

  • 3Com-developed ASIC architecture delivers 56 Gbps multilayer switching capacity per unit, wire-speed performance across all ports, and a forwarding rate of more than 41 million pps

  • Support for high availability software features such as Link Aggregation using 802.3.ad, Resilient links, Spanning Tree and Rapid Spanning Tree (802.1w), seven groups of RMON, and e-mail alerts

  • High-density fiber connectivity by populating the Switch 4060 with 3Com 1000BASE-SX (3CGBIC91),1000BASE-LX (3CGBIC92) and 1000BASE-LH (3CGBIC97) GBIC transceivers. Mix and match the GBICs so as to populate the switch to suit your port count and media needs.

  • Security features like RADIUS client support and Routed Access Control Lists protect sensitive network information and ensure that users have access to authorized resources

  • Optional 1000BASE-SX, 1000BASE-T, 1000BASE-LX and GBIC-based expansion modules deliver four additional ports of high-performance, feature-rich switching over copper or multimode fiber. Use the GBIC-based module also to support geographically-distributed XRN configurations.

  • 3Com® Network Supervisor (60-day trial version included with the switch) offers discovery, mapping, monitoring, and alerting for easy network administration
  • ADC Warranty Shield
