The 3Com® 11a/b/g Wireless PC Card with XJACK® Antenna supports all
three existing IEEE 802.11 networking standards—11a, 11b, and 11g. That means
you can stay connected, no matter what wireless environment you're in: the
office, at public wireless "hot spots", at home, or on the road. With this
versatile PC Card, laptop users can access network resources, the Internet, and
e-mail at 11-Mbps speeds on 11b wireless networks, or on 11a or 11g wireless
networks, at speeds up to 54 Mbps—ideal for multimedia applications using audio
and video. Once more, Wi-Fi certification helps ensure interoperability with
Wi-FI-certified 11a, 11b, and 11g products from other vendors.
The 3Com®
11a/b/g Wireless PC Card delivers one of the most robust suites of
standards-based, next-generation security features on the market today. Wi-Fi
Protected Access (WPA), 802.1x authentication, and EAP authentication protocols
all protect against unwanted network access. MD5 algorithm, AES (Advanced
Encryption Standard) and WEP (Wireless Equivalent Privacy) shared-key encryption
combine to protect the privacy of all wireless data.
Once more, the card
offers time-saving features that make it an intelligent choice for busy mobile
users. With Wireless LAN Manager software, you can create profiles with specific
wireless LAN settings for each place you travel—just click the proper profile,
and you are configured for connection. And 3Com's patented XJACK® antenna

In turbo mode, supported 11a and 11g network speeds jump to 104 Mbps when
used with 3Com Wireless LAN Access Point 8500 or Access Point 8700
Autonomous Load Balancing(ALB) maximizes WLAN performance by connecting to
the access point that provides the fastest throughput
Dynamic rate shifting automatically matches the best connection speed in
response to changing traffic and environmental conditions
3Com-patented XJACK® antenna design extends for excellent wireless LAN
