This high-performance, compact, and affordable switching platform is ideal for a
large server farm or for aggregating switches in a wiring closet. Its optional
expansion module lets you deploy additional gigabit media such as 1000BASE-SX,
1000BASE-LX, and 1000BASE-LH70 (long-haul Gigabit Ethernet) in the same
platform.
The SuperStack 3 Switch 4924 supports 3Com Gigabit Multilayer
Switching software, which offers feature-rich Layer 2 functionality, Layer 3
switching for IP networks, and advanced traffic prioritization and security
capabilities to accommodate the ever growing requirements of enterprise
networks.
3Com XRN™ (eXpandable Resilient Networking) technology allows implementation
of high availability configurations using two interconnected SuperStack 3 Switch
4900 family switches, scaling the connections to 48 wirespeed Gigabit Layer 3
