This software upgrades a 3Com® SuperStack® 3 Switch 4400
SE 24-Port to the same feature set as a 3Com SuperStack 3 Switch 4400 24-Port,
with Quality of Service (QoS) traffic control, edge security, and configuration
enhancements.
Advanced multilayer traffic classification, prioritization,
and filtering help maintain service levels for real-time applications such as
voice over IP (VoIP). User authentication improves network edge security, while
the switch configuration backup and restore function saves administrative costs.
Makes the 3Com SuperStack 3 Switch 4400 SE 24-Port functionally identical to
the 3Com SuperStack 3 Switch 4400 24-Port
Enhanced QoS capabilities—including support for multilayer traffic
classification, IEEE 802.1p prioritization, DiffServ marking, and wirespeed
application filtering and blocking—optimize the performance of delay-sensitive,
real-time applications
Automatic identification and prioritization for 3Com NBX® Networked
Telephony Solution VoIP traffic keeps voice quality high no matter what other
applications are running on the network
Edge security with IEEE 802.1X Network login authenticates all users as they
enter the network through the RADIUS (remote access dial-in user service)
control protocol server, keeping unauthorized users from accessing network
resources and data
Switch configuration backup and restore eases administration when
configuring, replacing, recovering, and moving network devices
